pledge to eat less meat for OUR climate!!
Less Meat Less Heat is dedicated to shifting societal attitudes about red meat consumption through highlighting the disastrous impact on our fragile climate
Climate breakdown is the leading risk to all life on earth – to our homes, our health, our livelihoods and our natural resources. Emissions we release now will cause damage for hundreds of years.
Animal agriculture contributes approximately 20% of the global emissions leading to climate breakdown, primarily from beef and lamb.
Our goal is to achieve the biggest impact in the shortest amount of time. We will educate the public through sound science about the massive carbon footprint of beef and lamb in particular. Through motivating and empowering individuals to choose less damaging eating habits, we aim to leverage the power of individual action as a tool for mitigating the threat of climate collapse.
Take the Pledge – healthy body and environment!
High intake of beef and lamb is strongly associated with cancer, heart disease and type 2 diabetes. A change in the distribution of crops from livestock to humans would increase human health and dramatically reduce food poverty across the globe.
The window to avoid climate collapse is shrinking daily. Cutting consumption of beef and lamb is a quick and relatively easy way to avoid reaching two degrees of warming – saving countless lives and drastically reducing the costs associated with adapting to an extremely volatile climate.
For my health and our environment, I pledge to:
- Find out more about meat and climate
- Eat less Beef and Lamb
- Try a vegetarian diet
- Try and vegan diet
